It was raining then,
soft and gentle and pristine.
Covetous I watched.
The sky enveloped me.
Petals pouted in the shadows.
Moisture clinging to my skin.
You spoke to me,
your voice fondling my heart.
Laughter tickling my hope.
Forever could I listen
knowing that you were all,
adorning every moment.
Raindrops caressed you,
and I watched enthralled.
Yes. This life is ours.

“Petals pouted in the shadows…” I love that line.

Thank you, Michelle. I’m kind of fond of that line, too. I’m glad you liked it.

I can picture it so easily in my mind… and George, since we’re discussing this line, I would like to add “Pouting petals” as one of the writing prompts for next month. I think there could be some really great poetry to come about from this. So would you mind if I use this?
