Ne kadar kalacağım ben buralarda?
Bu kör sokaklarda gezip dolanmam
ne kadar daha sürer, söyler misin?
Çevremdeki dağlara baksam yine de,
doruklarındaki buz tabakası eriyip
kar çarşafı bulanıp toprağa kaybolur.
Ben de erim erim eriyorum ahirül’emr.
Kızım “Dahası var mı?” atıyor bana.
Benim gibi çok soruları var elhamdülillah.
Ama Ahir kabir sualimi katlanır mı?
“Bahar geldi sonunda,” diyor coşkuyla,
“Gel, Baba, dışarıda biraz oynayalım,
ne dersin?” Gözleri ümitle parlıyor.
Sevgiyi bakışlarında öğrendim yeniden.
Ama her şey sona erer Allah’ın emriyle:
sevmek de kalmak da olmak da.
Kesinlikle sorularım da biter
en sonunda, bundan hariç yalnız:
Ne kadar kalacağım ben buralarda?
How much longer will I reside here?
Tell me, how much longer
will I wander these blind streets?
And if I again glance at the mountains
that surround me, the snowy veil that covers
the peaks melts into the earth and disappears.
In the end I too melt away. My daughter
asks me, “Is there anything more than this?”
Like me, she too has many questions, thank God.
But does the end, the grave abide my questions?
“Spring has finally come,” she says happily.
“Come on, Papa, let’s play outside,
what do you say?” Her eyes sparkle with hope.
In her expression, I discover anew her love.
And yet it is God’s will that all must end:
loving and remaining and being.
Of course, my questions too must end,
ultimately, excluding only this:
how long will I yet remain here?
Çok güzel. Yine bekleriz.

Bir Türkçe konuşan insan bana böyle nazik birşey söylerse—hatalarıma ragmen—kesinlikle memnun olurum. Sağ olun, Saphilopes.

Thank you so much, Lia. You are a dear. I wasn’t sure if anyone would even listen to it, but I wanted to record and share it anyway. It means a lot to me that you enjoyed it so.

I didn’t listen the first time (time reasons at that moment I think) but so glad I revisited!!! It’s amazing. Thanks for the kind reply. 💗
